Bishop Kevin L. Adams is a visionary man of God, an international humanitarian, trusted community advisor and leader. A man of considerable action, he knows no limitations when it comes to fighting injustices, poverty and violence. Adams exhibits tremendous advocacy for youth and community. His life work includes the installation of 15 water wells in Ghana for a humanitarian effort hosted by Project Compassion, the implementation of a number of ministries that teach economic self-sufficiency and programs that address building local capacity to prevent and reduce community violence.

Called to preach at the young age of 8 years old, Adams and others recognized his undeniable gift as an orator and his keen ability to galvanize others. Turning these talents to ministry, Adams has now been preaching for more than 30 years. Currently serving as a Bishop covering more than 400 churches worldwide, Senior Pastor at Olivet Baptist Church (OBC) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and founder of KLA Ministries, Adams has continued to focus on bringing about systemic change.

Recognizing the important role that faith-based partners play in rebuilding and sustaining communities, Adams frequently brings together interfaith, business and civic leaders, with a goal of working towards community restoration and elevation.

Bishop Adams founded the Entrepreneur Center at OBC, established a workforce development program, Laying Bricks for Tomorrow’s Building and on behalf of the church has secured ownership of more downtown real-estate than any other African American entity in the city of Chattanooga.

Bishop Adams has a natural inclination to intervene during times of community crisis in an effort to bring reconciliation and healing. This gift makes him one of leading voices on vital issues concerning communities. Adams is called upon as a trusted ally in the community to convene, examine and strategize ways in which to resolve differences, bring an end to gang violence, and restore hope and peace to all people. He serves as Chairman of the Community Safety Coalition,” a vital collective assembled by Chattanooga’s Mayor Andy Berke. Through his work he is establishing the building blocks in which others can model how to unite a city in turbulent times by providing leadership and guidance.

Recognized as a pillar in the community, Bishop Adams is a homegrown source of pride for
Tennesseans. He has a local street, a day on the calendar and a pending legislative bill all named in his honor. In addition, he has a key to the city. Bishop Kevin Adams has a strong reputation, impeccable character and is a devoted and well-needed voice for change.

Adams is a regular guest and contributor of the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) and frequently appears on THE WORD Network. He is a consistent speaker for Bishop T.D. Jakes and Heal the Land Conferences and also serves as a Goodwill Ambassador and spokesperson for the revolutionary new children’s community transformation initiative, Crownville.
