Martha A. Adams
Mother Martha Ann Adams was born May 4, 1944, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was affectionately called "Mot" by her family and friends.
"My mother helped me reach my dreams and now I will carry out her legacy."
Mother Adams was a lifetime member of Olivet Baptist Church, where she served as overseer of the Mother's Ministry. She worked for Chattanooga Human Services as an early childhood teacher, and then served as a supervisor before retiring after more than 40 years of service. After retiring, she continued her education at Chattanooga State Technical College receiving an Associates Degree in Early Childhood and Education graduating with Cum Laude.
Mother Adams excelled in the classroom, as well as the community. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Mayor's Women Council and Board of Community Kitchen. She also diligently volunteered for nine years with CHI Memorial in the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Cancer Center.
